1. What is something not many people know about you?

I have learnt to crochet this year and made a bride and groom Amigurumi for a good friend’s wedding. It has given me a newfound appreciation for anyone who makes arts and crafts.

2. Why did you get into recruitment?

I truly believe that everyone should be happy at work, given that most people spend more time with their work colleagues than their own family. I think the move into recruitment came naturally to me and this belief stands behind everything I do at work. It is truly an amazing feeling to reach out to someone after you have placed them in a role and to see them thriving in their new environment.

3. Favourite city/country you have been to?

As I have only been to NZ & Aussie, I need to keep it in my own backyard. The South Island of New Zealand is beautiful, and I have some great memories from doing roadies. Luckily, I have family in Queenstown and don’t think I’d get tired of the view there ever! I would love to do a trip through Europe in the future.

4. Favourite thing to do at the weekend?

Like everyone else on the planet it seems like the weekend is never long enough. I love spending quality time with my wife and child, keeping up to date with the latest in Technology & esports, sneaking in some video games and putting my feet up! Once my wee one is older hoping to be able to get away on a few day or overnight trips.

5. What do you like best about your job?

Talking with passionate people. It is amazing how passionate people can be about their work and what they have achieved. Getting to help these passionate people into roles where they can thrive and truly enjoy their day-to-day work is one of the perks of the job!

6. What is your biggest fear?

Tight spaces, nothing worse than feeling confined.

7. Favourite food/cuisine?

A good Thai Green Curry is hard to beat! If I had to choose a whole cuisine to survive off for the rest of my life though it would probably be Mexican. So much variety.

8. Cats or Dogs?

Hard to decide but cats take it out, I think. Both are great though.

9. What song would you sing at karaoke?

I’m not one for karaoke normally but I’m sure after a beer or two you could convince me to sing Sweet Caroline (ba ba ba).

10. What was the last film/tv show you watched?

My wife and I recently finished The Bear season two. Before that we watched the entirety of The Walking Dead which took us the better part of a year!

11. What does recruitment in the future look like?

AI is going to be huge for most jobs in the upcoming years. I think that AI, and other technologies, will help with day-to-day administration tasks. This will leave recruiters more time to do the important part of recruitment which is building and maintaining relationships.
